Neurontin is a prescription anticonvulsant drug approved by the FDA as an epilepsy seizure treatment. It can also be used to treat nerve pain that follows shingles attacks. However, Neurontin was illegally promoted by its maker, Pfizer, for many off-label uses for which it actually had no benefit.
